Day 4- Why do people continue to randomly hate other people?

Today I’m thinking about the sobering fact that Jewish people in Germany have been warned against wearing a yarmulke in public, (that’s the little “skull cap” that some Jews wear, which can obviously be identifying) because it might compromise their safety. In Germany. Again. That just really hurts my soul. And to think about how anti Semitism has risen again here in the United States, and around the world, and I’m thinking about how racism is an ongoing and perpetuated part of human culture. That if you are a person who is not white, you are not quite as safe as people who are white, to say the least, pretty much everywhere in this world. Due, simply, to hatred. Bigotry. This created notion of “white supremacy”. I know this is old news, but it is something that I think about every day of my life. I saw the news this morning, and I heard about this warning to Jews in Germany, and it just made me reflect upon all of this other ignorance, and how human beings just don’t know how to treat one another, and in fact, never have. We’ve just never been very good about equality. But at least we’re always fighting to get there. At least those who believe in equality. And those who are against it, for some strange reason, continue to fight for what’s “white”. That just amazes me. Anyway, that’s all I want to say for today, I thank you for coming to visit me here, especially since this is a special stop for you outside of social media, this is not just a scroll down your timeline, and I don’t take that for granted, that you made a unique and intentional decision to come visit me, and so thank you for that, and I will be here again tomorrow, and every day that I can, and I hope you are well, and that you have a beautiful and productive day today, and as I always say, here’s to a better world, for all of us.
